Work experience
Teenager Luke Ebdon recently spent a week on work experience with Harris Irwin ahead of starting college in September to study for his A-Levels.
Luke Ebdon has an interest in creative design and wanted to gain some knowledge and experience before starting college and this included spending some time with our 3D Visualiser Brodie Lewis.
Luke said: “Due to the pandemic, I missed out on during work experience in year 10, so I was keen to spend time at Harris Irwin as I felt it would be a helpful experience to allow me to visualise potential job roles after education.
“I chose Harris Irwin as I have an interest in graphics and design and Harris Irwin has a department that specialises in that area which appealed to me.
“I learned to use new software that is commonly used in the design industry such as 3ds Max and broadened my skills on photoshop too.
“What I found most interesting is seeing how different software can be used in the architectural industry for numerous different roles and functions and how each member of the firm contributes towards these projects.”
Brodie said: “Luke showed true desire and enthusiasm to learn the programmes required to be a 3D Visualiser, exceeding expectation in ever task asked of him as well as being well mannered and hard working. It’s just a shame he couldn’t be with us here longer!”
